The Greek Minister sounded optimistic that the SYRIZA government will succeed in its difficult task to restructure the public sector, fight corruption and put an end to austerity.
“There is no other way; Europe cannot continue to live in austerity. This will change. It happens we are first. Others will follow. We will govern for many years because we have the people on our side.”
Flabouraris pledged that all privatization deals that have not been signed yet, will be reexamined. He used the example of the deal regarding 14 public airports that has not been signed yet. He also pledged that state property will not be sold cheap but it will be utilized for the state’s benefit.
Regarding banks, the Greek Minister said that bank management will change because it should be under state control so that they can help small and medium businesses.
