Greek President and German Finance Minister Hold Telephone Talks

Pavlopoulos President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos and German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble held telephone talks late on Tuesday evening, discussing ways to boost bilateral cooperation between Greece and Germany in order to effectively tackle the problems of the Greek economy within the Eurozone.
According to a Greek Presidency announcement, Pavlopoulos and Schaeuble are old acquaintances and friends from the time when they were both serving as Interior Ministers of their respective countries.
Presidency sources said that the call, which took place at 7:00 PM and lasted for roughly half an hour, was jointly arranged, with the knowledge of both Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis.
