Four ANEL Lawmakers Likely to Vote Against Proposals

ANEL
Reports have surfaced that during Friday’s parliament vote, four Independent Greeks (ANEL) lawmakers will reject the proposals the Greek government submitted to its international creditors on Thursday.
Lawmakers Pavlos Haikalis, Stavroula Ksoulidou, Harisios Katanas and Nikos Mavraganis will reportedly vote against the proposals, which contain various austerity measures including significant public spending reductions.
Minister of National Defence and Independent Greek leader, Panos Kammenos did not sign the proposal on Thursday. He later justified his omission by saying that he wanted to present the proposals to his parliamentary group first. Kammenos left his parliamentary group’s meeting earlier on Friday to meet with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
Earlier in the day, five members of SYRIZA published a document asking for the renegotiation of a better deal or a Grexit. During the ongoing discussion in the parliament on Friday, SYRIZA lawmaker Rahil Makri said she would vote against the proposal.
