Greek Bank Holiday Extended

atmThe Greek bank holiday, which has been in effect since June 29, has been extended until Thursday, July 16, while there was an official announcement regarding the transactions citizens will be allowed to make, as provided by the new legislative act published in the Government Gazette on July 14.
The bank branches that are currently open are allowed to perform specific transactions, for example to provide Greek pensioners with their 120-euro weekly payment. Furthermore, citizens can visit these branches to make current and overdue payments for their credit cards and loans, or debts to the State, public enterprises, state social security funds and private insurance companies, in cash or via money transfer from other bank accounts.
Moreover, the transfer of funds from a savings account in other accounts within the same bank are also allowed.
