Greeks Using Google to Find Jobs Abroad

google3Analysis on the searches made by Greeks and residents of Greece on Google, revealed that they are concerned about the future of their jobs. The searches regarding job opportunities abroad have significantly increased over the last few days.
According to last month’s Google Trends analysis, a huge increase in job searches was recorded from Greece. The word “jobs” and specifically searches for “jobs USA,” “jobs Europe,” “jobs UK” and “jobs Australia” spiked dramatically since early June and still continue to increase.

At the same time, it appears that fewer and fewer people from Greece are looking for work opportunities domestically. In fact, the search for “jobs” in Greece is showing a steady decrease over the last two years.
Media and technology company Vocativ, which presented the analysis results, noted that, according to a CNN Money report for the period between 2010 and 2013, more than 350,000 Greeks left their country to work abroad, and most were between the ages of 20 and 39.
