Two Small-Scale Earthquakes Occur near Samothrace

Two small-scale seismic vibrations reaching 4.3 and 4.6 on the Richter scale occurred today at 4:26am (local time), according to the National Observatory of Athens’ Institute of Geodynamics.
The epicenter of the earthquakes was detected in sea area 65 km south-east of the Greek island of Samothrace, and 333 kilometers northeast of Athens.
According to scientists, double earthquakes are common for the region, but they cannot go unnoticed, since they occur due to the Anatolia rift, which has caused large-scale earthquakes in the past.
