Varoufakis Admits Plan B Involving Hacking

varoufakis16After former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis repeatedly denied publications about his alleged Plan B involving hijacking of Greek tax payers’ identification numbers and hacking into the Ministry’s database, he eventually admitted that he had created a plan for a parallel payment system.
According to Greek newspaper Kathimerini, Varoufakis planned to create a parallel banking system, in the euro framework, that could also operate with the drachma. The base of his plan included wiretapping the taxpayers’ TINs. Varoufakis revealed his plan to foreign hedge fund executives in an international forum on July 16.
Speaking to the Telegraph and journalist Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, the former Finance Minister noted that the publication regarding his plan were accurate, however, he claims that they had distorted his positions, making it appear as though he planned to lead the country out of the Eurozone.
“The context of all this is that they want to present me as a rogue Finance Minister, and have me indicted for treason. It is all part of an attempt to annul the first five months of this government and put it in the dustbin of history,” he said.
“It totally distorts my purpose for wanting parallel liquidity. I have always been completely against dismantling the euro because we never know what dark forces that might unleash in Europe,” he added to the British newspaper.
