Finnish FinMin Finally Announces His Country's Participation in Greek Loan Deal

“Today I got a mandate to approve the third package for Greece,” Finnish Finance Minister Alexander Stubb told reporters on Thursday, revealing the Finnish government’s intention to finally participate in Greece’s new rescue loan deal.
The decision, which was made by the Finnish Parliamentary Grand Committee, was announced by Stubb, who hastened to comment: “There are 47 preconditions outlined by the Troika for the approval of the first payment and this as well was just sealed by the Grand Committee.”
And he continued explaining his country’s turn of stance toward European negotiations, saying: “We have come a long way during the summer. The future of the euro was at stake… but now we have got a solution and will live with it.”
Stubb also revealed that Finland cannot demand the International Monetary Fund’s deep involvement in the process of preventing Greece from default, however it wishes for it to happen.
Finland, as well as Germany and some Eastern European countries, shared the same hard line during the negotiation process between the Greek government and its creditors, even staunchly opposing to any new aid for Athens.
