Greek Police Allegedly Use Stun Grenade Close to FYROM Border

migrants-FYROMAFP reported that Greek Police used a stun grenade against migrants and refugees close to the border with FYROM on Monday.
The reported incident took place in the village of Idomeni during a protest held by 2,000 immigrants and refugees against the closing of the border by the FYROM government.
AFP cited the same source as claiming there were no injuries during the use of the stun grenade.
The Greek border with FYROM has increasingly become a crossing point for migrants and refugees, with thousands of people entering the neighbouring country with the ultimate goal of reaching Hungary, another European Union country.
Hungary is part of the Schengen Agreement and therefore provides a gateway to mobility within the European Union. The country, however, is close to completing the erection of a 175-kilometer-long and four meter high barbed wire fence on its border with Serbia in an effort to curb immigration.
