Car registrations grew 20.1% in August to a total 7,039 vehicles (new and used vehicles), up from 5,862 in August 2014 (in passenger cars the increase was 25.8 pct), theĀ Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Wednesday.
The statistics service, in a report, said that car registrations were up 20.8% in August 2014 (23.1% up in passenger cars), while new cars in the market totaled 4,769 in August this year, up 18.8% from the same month in 2014.
In the January-August period, car registrations totaled 81,642 cars, up 18.5% from the same period last year (in passenger cars the increase was 18.9%).
Motorcycle registrations totaled 2,984 in August, up 7.0 pct from August 2014, while in the January-August period, motorcycle registrations totaled 25,541, up 2.9% from the same period last year.
