1st Opera Festival to Kick-Off in Northern Greece

The independent artistic group Skyll of Yorick Productions, based in Thessaloniki, was formed in 2011 by Philip Modinos and Kassandra Dimopoulou in London and it focuses on organizing independent opera productions. Their main aim is to provide as much work opportunities to Greek people, open new horizons, and provide intelligent solutions that meet the needs of young Greek artists.
The group’s founders are both artists with remarkable resumes, despite their young age. They know very well that the only way to a better future for them, as well as other artists across Greece is the establishment of new economic rules that suit the needs of young people.
In 2013 the team moved to Thessaloniki, where they have managed to organize a number of opera productions, usually in collaboration with the FIX in art group.
They established an independent opera studio in Thessaloniki, where young singers can practice and gain the opportunity to participate in professional productions.
This year, the two groups decided to establish the 1st Opera Festival of Thessaloniki, where they will present four opera productions – Carmen, SuorAngelica, Dido and Aeneas and Norma- in Thessaloniki Concert Hall.
Some of the money raised from the tickets, will be given to charity.
