The Greek Men’s Basketball Team advanced to the next round of the FIBA Eurobasket 2015 after an emphatic 75-54 victory over Belgium on Saturday in Lille, France.
Despite the 21 point difference, the final score does not necessarily reflect the course of the game. In the first half, Greece marginally came out on top in both the first and the second quarter with a 16-15 and a 34-31 lead, respectively. However, the Greeks extended their lead to 15 points by the end of the third quarter and finished the game off in the fourth quarter to advance to the tournament’s next round.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Kostas Koufos scored 13 points and nine rebounds.
Greece, continues their undefeated streak in this year’s tournament, and will face either Spain or Poland in the quarter finals on September 15th.
