U.S. State Department Congratulates New Greek PM Tsipras

The Department of State stressed that the U.S. will continue to work closely with the new Greek government by cooperating in all aspects.

A State Department official stated that, “Greece is an important ally of the United States and will continue to work closely with the government of Greece on bilateral and regional issues.”

According to the U.S. official, “the U.S., will continue to support domestic reforms and international efforts to support the economic recovery of Greece.”

The American official also said that it is in the United States’ interest that Greece recovers from the prolonged economic crisis and comes out stronger in order to play a stabilizing role in the region.

    That is exactly the point, since turkey is anything but stabilized.
