Dimitris Kyrsanidis Wins Santorini Red Bull Art of Motion Freerunning Competition in Santorini [video]

Red-Bull-Art-of-Motion_KirsanidisFor the second consecutive year 20-year-old Greek Dimitris Kyrsanidis emerged victorious from the 2015 Red Bull Art of Motion free-running competition on the island of Santorini, Greece, having gathered the most points from the competition’s judges on Saturday.
KisranidisKyrsanidis, also know as “DK” overcame 17 other contestants from 13 countries around the world, who reached Saturday’s final after progressing through qualifying rounds, to reclaim his title in front of a large crowd.
Latvian Pavel Petkuns, who won the silver medal last year, and Canadian Jesse Peveril came in second and third respectively. Kyrsanidis was the only Greek participant.
redbull-art-of-motion-15-schauer-and-grazioli-action-at-practiseThis was the fifth consecutive year the Red Bull Art of Motion was held in Santorini. The competition took place in Oia, which is internationally known for its breathtaking sunset view.
Contestants perform free-running stunts across the roofs and balconies of houses, hotels and other structures, between a designated start and finish point.
The area’s slope makes it a favorable spot for free-running and parkour.
