Greece Ranks Rock Bottom in High-Speed Internet Connections

High-Speed Internet, Greece
Greece has a rate of 0.4 percent in ultra-high-speed web connections, while the majority of its households (70 percent) enjoys internet speeds of below 30 MBps.
As a result, the country ranks 27th out of the 28 European member-states, according to the official figures that were recently released by the European Commission.
Greece’s disappointing trajectory regarding web evolution seems to be a deterring factor that should be taken into serious account within the European Commission’s ambitious plan to have 50 percent of active telecommunications lines in European Union member-states enjoying a speed of more than 100 MBps, by 2020.
According to data that was gathered since the end of 2014, although Greece is generally approximately 20 percent cheaper compared to the other European members regarding low-speed internet connections, it appears to be lightly more expensive in triple-play connections, that include TV options.
