The Greek government and the institutions are seeking an honest compromise on the issue of non-performing loans, Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos and Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis said on Monday.
Speaking to reporters, after the meeting, Dombrovskis said that the Commission’s opinion is that the protection of the first home should be focused on households in need. “The solution we support is support to households in danger,” he said.
Speaking to reporters, earlier, the Greek Finance minister said that the issue was discussed “because of different views in amending an existing legislation for protecting the first home. Both sides believe that an honest compromise must be found.”
