Bank of Greece Predicts Recession will Continue Through First Half of 2016

Pedestrians walk past the bank of Greece in AthenThe Bank of Greece predicts that recession will continue through the first half of 2016, according to information ahead of the publication of the latest interim report on Monetary Policy on Friday.
According to a central bank source, the return to economic recovery is conditional. The two most important factors for raising GDP would be the lifting of capital controls and enhancement of liquidity in the banking system.
The same source says that Bank of Greece governor Yannis Stournaras will appeal for political consensus among political leaders so that the reforms required by the bailout program would be implemented as soon as possible.
