Greek PM Tsipras On Recapitalization of Greek Banks

tsipras-voul-708_1“Despite any difficulties, the new recapitalization of the banks was conducted in order to safeguard, in the best possible way, the interests of the Greek state,” Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras stressed on Friday, addressing the Greek Parliament. Tsipras rejected main opposition New Democracy MPs’ charges over a sharp decrease in the domestic ownership of the local banks.
The Greek PM also underlined that those who wanted Greece out of the eurozone and the Schengen zone are now unhappy, adding that the “cassandras were proven wrong.”
Tsipras noted that banks are completely recapitalized and that from now on they will be able to inspire confidence to the depositors in order to bring their money back to the Greek banks and the real economy. “Our target is the banking system to return to the development role for the financing of the businesses and the creation of new job positions.”
