Three More Refugees Found Dead in Greek-Turkish Waters

migrant-rescue-missionThree more migrants lost their lives in the perilous journey from the Turkish coasts to Greece’s islands. There are three more people missing, according to the Hellenic Coast Guard.
On Monday night Turkish authorities notified Greece’s coast guard that there is an ongoing rescue mission for six migrants off Kastelorizo island. According to their report, 12 migrants were found on a Turkish islet, while five more who were in the water were rescued.
The survivors notified the Turkish authorities that on their boat that sank there were six more people on board, three of them being children. A new joint rescue mission between the Greek and Turkish coast guards took place.
The Turkish coast guard located the bodies of three of them near the Turkish shores, but it is not specified so far if any of the dead are children.
