Underdog Faros Keratsiniou Knocks Out PAOK to Reach Greek Cup Final

Faros PaokAn A2 division team caused a great upset in the semi-finals of the Greek basketball cup.
Faros Keratsiniou defeated PAOK on Monday evening by 69-65 in their home court to secure a ticket to the cup final against heavyweights and cup holdersĀ Panathinaikos, having been only the third A2 team to reach the final in the cup’s history.
FarosĀ has not lost a single game this season in the A2 league. PAOK on the other hand, is currently 6th in the A1 league. The Thessaloniki team has won the Greek cup three times and the A1 league another three.
In the cup final, FarosĀ will meet a team that currently maintains the exact same performance record in their own league.
Panathinaikos are the dominant force in the Greek cup having won the trophy a record 16 times including the past four consecutive seasons.
The final will take place in February in a location that has yet to be determined.
