“For the first time we will have one-speed pensioners,” Greek Labor Minister George Katrougalos said on Friday in a press conference on social security reforms.
He added that the Memorandum along with the peculiarities of the system and the PSI are the three main reasons why social security reforms are required.
Regarding the contacts in the EU, he said that the social security issue is a national issue, but also a European one.
Central Union of Chambers head opposes to higher social security contributions
Central Union of Chambers President Konstantinos Mihalos said on Friday that he does not agree with the increase in social security contributions, adding that the entire market disagrees with it.
“The Chambers community and the business community are opposed to the increase in employer contributions, like any other measure that increases business costs and thus impairs their competitiveness and by extension the competitiveness of the Greek economy,” he noted.
