The case of a British Muslim who set up a temporary mosque on the Greek island of Lesvos for the religious needs of the refugees stranded there remains something of a mystery, but the country’s authorities are investigating the case with due diligence.
And for a good reason. The “devout” Muslim British citizen has not only been spreading his message of “restoring” Muslim religion on the island of Lesvos three hundred years after the end of the Ottoman empire, but is seen in photos dressed in an army uniform and carrying a rifle.
The last thing that financially bankrupt and poverty-stricken Greece needs is the spread of radical Islam on its own territory. There is no question that the future of Europe is being redesigned at this very moment as a result of the influx of millions of migrants and refugees from North Africa and the Middle East but Greece is simply in no position to accept many of these people, and surely not without generous financial support from the European Union.
Be that as it may, Greece needs, more than anything else, to be on the lookout for the spread of radical Islam religion and ideology inside its own borders. It cannot afford more problems for itself that it already has.
