MIG President Vgenopoulos Attacks Government of Cyprus, Greek Justice System, and Journalist Vaxevanis

Vaxevanis_VgenopoulosThe President of Marfin Investment Group (MIG), Andreas Vgenopoulos, accused the government of Cyprus in a press interview today with making outrageous financial claims against Greece.
Specifically, he said that the now defunct Popular Bank had filed a lawsuit against Greece demanding compensation of 4 billion euros for losses that occurred as a result of the massive losses that private bond holders were forced to accept in 2012.
Vgenopoulos claimed that Minister of Finance Georgiades had approved of the lawsuit and described the move as a hostile act against Greece.
He also said that there is a MIG lawsuit coming up with claims of over one billion euros for what he described as the “collapse of our investment with immoral acts.”
In his interview to the press, Andreas Vgenopoulos also attacked former Greek deputy minister of Justice Dimitri Papangelopoulos and journalist Costas Vaxevanis, owner and editor of the magazine Hot Doc, over the case of the Popular Bank, charging both men with improper interference.
Vgenopoulos also charged Vaxevanis with manipulating Syriza MPs, but offered no further details.
