Alt. Migration Minister: If Idomeni Won't Reopen, Refugee and Migrant Crisis Will Last 2-3 Years

According to reports, Alternate Migration Minister Yannis Mouzalas estimated that given the current situation, if the borders in Idomeni won’t reopen soon, which will lead to more than 100,000 refugees and migrants being trapped in Greece.
In a meeting on Wednesday with mayors and local authorities, Mouzalas admitted that the refugee and migrant crisis will go on for at least two-three years, and Greece will become a transit country and a country of residence for the refugees and migrants.
“We are not in the best possible situation. In a short period of time, the refugees and migrants will realize that they cannot go to the countries they want,” said Mouzalas.
The representatives of the local authorities in turn, asked Mouzalas for a national plan in order to manage properly the number of refugees and migrants that will remain in the country.
