Greece's Top Carnival Destinations

This Sunday marks the end of the carnival and the beginning of the 40-day Fast before Easter Sunday. However, the end of the carnival can only be celebrated in one way — endless fiestas all over Greece with big parades, dancing in the streets and tons of confetti.
There are several places in Greece that are known for their carnival fiestas and parades. These popular cities draw in large crowds of people who travel near and far to join in on the fun.
Patras
Partying and fun are the only words to describe the carnival days in Patras. It is one of the oldest and most popular carnivals; the city is well known around Greece and many parts of the world for the elaborate decorations and vibrant colors. The preparation of the floats that are featured in the parade are often prepared throughout the whole year.
