The film festival that “strictly” speaks French  returns to Athens, Greece for the 17th year in a row from April 7 until April 13.
The Francophone Film Festival is celebrated with a week full of films that feature the French language. The festival will show more than 40 films in this year’s program, with screenings in Danaos Cinema, Embassy Nova Cinema Odeon and the auditorium of the Institut Francais d’ Athenes (IFA) in Sina street.
The opening film of the event will be “My King” (“Mon Roi”) by director and actress Μaïwenn Le Besco, who directed award-winning “Polisse” — a film that was screened in the competitive section of the past Cannes Film Festival.
The closing film of the 17th Francophone Film Festival will also be an international premiere, as the film “Mum, I’m back!” by Eric Lavin will screen for the first time in Athens.
