Greece's Creditors Team Leave for Brussels and Return to Athens on Saturday

troikaThe mission chiefs of Greece’s creditors have left for Brussels and will return to Athens on Saturday to continue talks with the Greek side on the pending issues of the bailout program evaluation.
On Saturday, the quartet of creditors will continue talks with the Greek team. They will also meet with Labor Minister Giorgos Katrougalos to discuss pension reforms and contributions.
On Friday, the mission chiefs of Greece’s European Union and International Monetary Fund lenders held talks in Brussels, according to the European Commission spokeswoman Annika Breidthardt.
“They will return within the day,” Breidthardt said, adding that there was a euro zone officials meeting scheduled in Brussels on Friday.
Analysts say that such talks are usually done by teleconference. Therefore it is possible that the leak of the discussion between two IMF officials is the reason the mission chiefs took the precautionary measure to discuss the progress of negotiations with euro zone officials in a safe place.
It is known that the IMF places the responsibility of the wire tapping on the Greek government, without officially saying so, the analysts say.
