TripAdvisor has announced its list with the most beautiful islands in the world for 2016.
With Maui being the champion of the list of most beautiful islands in the world, the Greek island of Santorini shares similar glory as it made second place. Santorini moved up two spots from a No. 4 ranking last year. However, Santorini topped the list of most beautiful islands in Europe.
Here are the top 10 most beautiful islands in the world according to TripAdvisor:
1) Maui, Hawaii
2) Santorini, Greece
3) Jamaica, Caribbean
4) Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
5) Bali, Indonesia
6) Mallorca, Spain
7) Mauritius, Africa
8) Phuket, Thailand
9) Bora Bora, French Polynesia
10) Fernando de Noronha, Brazil
TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award winners for 2016 are split mostly between islands in Europe, the Caribbean and Asia. Winners are selected based on an algorithm that considers the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, attractions and restaurants in a period of one year.
