Tear Gas and Clashes Between Refugees and Migrants in Idomeni

Tension broke out in Idomeni when groups of Pakistani and Afghan refugees and migrants clashed by throwing rocks and other objects. The Police interfered by using tear gas.
One refugee who was hit by rocks was transferred by the MSF to the hospital of Polycastro and required stitches for the injury.
The situation is now currently under control.
In the meantime, a bus and a van have departed from Idomeni and are heading towards the accommodation center in Lagadigkia and Pieria.
The total number of refugees and migrants that are currently in Greece is 54,347, according to data by the Coordinating Body of the Refugee Crisis Management. On the islands, there are 8,359 refugees and migrants, with 7 people arriving in the past 24 hours. In Attiki, there are 14,435 people out of which 2,135 are in Piraeus Port. In Central Greece there are 1,924 refugees and migrants and in Southern Greece 338. In Idomeni there are still 9,682 people, while 29,291 people are in total in Northern Greece.
