New Democracy’s (ND) positions on the economy and the refugee issue were presented by party leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis to France’s Prime Minister Manuel Valls during a meeting in Athens, Greece, on Friday.
Mitsotakis said he is concerned about the course of the real economy and the need for a different economic policy mix, which will be based on lowering excessive taxation, public spending and pushing forward with reforms, according to a party press release.
He stressed the party’s strategic aim for a 4 pct growth with primary surpluses of 2 pct and the much-needed creation of a positive environment for investments that are vital for Greece’s definitive exit from the crisis and the creation of new jobs.
On the refugee issue, the leader of ND noted the need for alertness and coordinated action both on the Greek and European level.
The two men also exchanged views of the course of Europe and agreed for the need to take political actions that will be supported by European people and will strengthen Europe.
