Greece Stands with Orlando, Condemns Terror Attack on LGBT Community

orlando-shooting-1The shooting which occurred in Orlando Florida over the weekend has touched the hearts of people all around the world. Monday, the Greek Foreign Minister expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims and to the American People as well as condemned the attack in a press statement.
“We express our unequivocal condemnation and abhorrence of the deadly attack that took place in Orlando, Florida, U.S.A. and which resulted in the tragic deaths of dozens of innocent victims,” the Foreign Ministry said.
“We express our condolences and support to the U.S. government and our friends, the American people. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims,” the statement further stated.
This shooting is the deadliest mass shooting on American soil and targeted not only the LGBT community, but the Latino community as well. It is the worst terrorist attack on the U.S.A. since 9/11.
PM A. Tsipras condemns Orlando shooting
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras condemned the mass shooting at Orlando, saying thoughts and prayers are with the relatives of the victims. “Our thoughts today are with the relatives of the victims of the shocking and appalling Orlando massacre,” he tweeted. “We strongly condemn acts based on racism, homophobia and hatred. We strive for a society that is based on the acceptance of diversity.”
