Greek Rail Strike from Friday July 8 Until Tuesday July 12

A Greek railway employee signals for trains at Athens main train station
Rail services in Greece will be suspended from Friday July 8 until next Tuesday July 12 due to strike action by TRAINOSE workers. The strike will affect trains throughout Greece, including the Proastiakos service that runs to Athens airport. The metro trains will operate as usual. The line from Doukissis Plakentias to the airport will also operate as normal.
The strike is in protest against the government’s decision to privatize TRAINOSE and ROSCO, the company in charge of Greek railways stock maintenance.
The workers also want collective contracts to continue.
