Mitsotakis in Israel: ‘Exceptionally interesting and very warm’ Meetings with Israeli Government Officials



mitsotakis RivlenOn Sunday, the president of New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, met with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin during his official 3-day visit in Israel.

After the meeting Mitsotakis commented that the exchange between himself and Rivlin was “exceptionally interesting and very warm”, and said that it was exemplary of the importance of good relations between Greece and Israel as well as stressing the role of Israel as a strategic partner for Greece.

Mitsotakis and Rivlin are said to have talked about the important economic cooperation between the countries as well as the bilateral collaboration in the tourism sector with around 400,000 Israeli nationals visiting Greece each year.

On Monday Mitsotakis is to meet with Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and the president of the Israeli parliament, Yuli Edelstein.

Other stops on his 3-day trip include visiting with Palestinian authorities in Ramala and going to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum.
