According to local media, on Tuesday, a 65-year-old man reportedly tried committing suicide by slashing his wrists with a pocket knife at a local branch of the OAEE social security fund for self-employed professionals.
The event took place in Lamia, Central Greece.
Local media also reported that before he pulled out his pocket knife, the man told an OAEE worker, “I’ve paid all my bills. Why are you hassling me?”
Other witnesses told the police that he had been the victim of a robbery a few days prior and was suffering a great deal of stress because of the event, according to Lamia Report.
He was taken to the hospital following the event.
