No Bidders for Athens Ledra Hotel, Second Auction to Take Place in September

athens-ledra No bidders came forward on Wednesday for the auction of the Athens Ledra Hotel, causing the auction to be postponed until September.
The hotel, a former Ledra Marriott chain hotel, is located on Syngrou Avenue in the Athens suburb of Neos Kosmos.
After a long run of not paying its bills or employees, the hotel shut down in a messy protested scene back in late May.
At the time it closed its doors, it is estimated that the hotel owed some 200 members of staff a total of 5 million euro in back-wages and compensation, according to ekathimerini.com.
The asking price for the lowest bid for the hotel is at 47.8 million euros. After no bidders came forward in the first round, there are rumors that the price may drop at the second auction in September.
