Pro-Migrant Protesters Clash with Police in Northern Greece (video)

no-border-entasi-708Pro-migrant protesters demanded the Greek-Turkish border in the Greek town of Kastanies be opened and clashed with police as they rallied against the fence for their cause.
The 200 protesters who had their faces covered belong to the “No Border Camp”, a group of Greek and European anarchists who have occupied the campus of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. They were chanting “Open the border” while holding placards reading “Beyond Borders”.
The protesters tried to breach police lines by hitting riot officers with flag poles. The police resorted to the use of tear gas and stun grenades to stop them.
Since Thursday, hundreds of members of the No Border Camp have been staging rallies in Thessaloniki. On Thursday they rallied in the center of town and afterwards they vandalised Thessaloniki’s City Hall and caused damages to computers, office equipment and desks.
