Rouvikonas Anarchist Group Throws Paint at Turkish Embassy in Athens

Members of the anarchist group known as Rouvikonas (Rubicon) threw paint at the front entrance of the Turkish Embassy in central Athens at 12:10 on Tuesday. Three people are in police custody for their involvement in the incident.

Flyers were also distributed expressing Greek solidarity with the people of Turkey following the failed coup that resulted in a government crackdown with arrests of military personnel but also members of academia and political opponents of the Turkish government.

In the past, Rouvikonas has vandalized public property, such as ticket machines at Athens metro stations, and has also entered and vandalized state offices to push through their point.
