10 Refugees from Greece Admitted in Czech Republic, EU Efforts Slow to React in Resettlements

greece migrantsOn Wednesday the Czech Republic announced in a report that they will be resettling 10 asylum seekers from Greece, as part of the agreement that all EU countries have undertaken.
The agreement deals with the redistribution and resettlement of migrants seeking asylum in Europe throughout the EU in hopes of easing the strain on Greece and Italy, where the majority of asylum seekers are now living.
According to the report released by the cabinet, the Czech republic has deemed three families acceptable after passing additional national security checks.
In February the county was offered 20 refugees from Greece, however, the Czech authorities refused admittance of 13 of them after the additional security screenings.
Three of the remaining refugees apparently left the facilities on Greece where they were staying, leaving the remaining four, all Syrians, to arrive in the country in late April.
The actions of EU countries hit indirectly or not at all from the migrant crisis has been slow. Even with the redistribution and resettlement process implemented by the EU, Greece and Italy continue to take the brunt of the crisis.
Prague has offered to take 10 refugees from Italy, with no further word on the matter from Italy.
As of current times, there are a total of 7,500 refugees on a short list to be resettled and only 2,200 have been resettled so far.
Not the most encouraging news for Greece which has seen some 50,000 refugees stuck in the country after other EU countries have shut their borders.
