Although there were less traffic accidents on the roads of Greece in the month of May in 2016 than there were in 2015, there were more fatalities, reports the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).
On Friday, ELSTAT released data showing that accidents lessened by 5.3 percent compared to the previous year, however, fatalities from traffic accidents rose by a staggering 17.2 percent in the same period of comparison.
The statistics show that there were a total of 1,017 accidents in 2016 compared to 1,074 the previous year, however the accidents resulted in 75 deaths in 2016 compared to 64 in May of 2015.
