Billionaire Sails Greek Isles After Sacking Thousands of Workers [Video]

Sir Philip Green, holidaying on his new super yacht on the Greek islands, reacted angrily when Sky News attempted to question him about the closure of retail chain BHS and loss of thousands of jobs and pensions. Following the collapse of the company, a Sky journalist asks questions about the widespread criticism for leaving 11,000 workers out of pocket while enjoying a lavish sailing holiday in Ithaca.
The businessman is shown on his third yacht, valued at 100 million pounds, at a time when people who have worked long and hard are losing their jobs. He is questioned on how people who face redundancy and reduction of pension entitlements are on a different boat, unable to vacation this year.
The Sky News journalist took a water taxi from the port of Ithaca to track down the billionaire’s yacht after he refused requests to answer questions. Once filmed by the journalist, Sir Philip lunges for the camera and shouts “That’s going to the fucking sea!” He also threatens to call the police, however, by the end of the interview he manages to shake hands with the news crew.
His new super yacht is almost as long as a football pitch and has a smaller motor-launch to ferry passengers to and from the shore. There are around 40 people manning the boat, including a chef and dog walker.
His situation is in stark contrast with that of BHS staff since April when 11,000 jobs and 22,000 pensions were affected. The collapse led to a parliamentary inquiry. During a hearing, Sir Philip Green said he would find a solution for the pension issue. Many MPs have pointed the finger at the billionaire who is viewed as the “unacceptable face of capitalism.”
