Greek Pride at Rio Paralympics: Konstantinidis Gets Silver Medal

Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos congratulated Thanasis Konstantinidis on winning a second medal for Greece at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. Early on in the games, Konstantinidis had won a gold medal in the Men’s F32 shot put. His second win came on Tuesday when he won a silver medal in the Men’s F31/F32 Club Throw.
“Your new great Olympic distinction, in addition to being rare, is exceedingly indicative of your supreme abilities in both sport and life. Once again you have made us all proud. My warmest congratulations,” said Pavlopoulos.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras congratulated the entire Greek Paralympic team for their efforts and success in gaining nine medals for Greece. He posted a message of gratitude on his Greek Twitter account on Tuesday: “The distinctions of Greek athletes at the Paralympics make us proud. Thank you! Team Hellas.”
