The group show will feature selected artwork from the permanent collection of the Elgiz Museum in Istanbul.
According to the museum’s website, the works collected and represented are ones which form a “constellation reflecting on the trajectories of memory and perception.”
The works in the exhibition are all interconnected by either content or form-based links and features artwork in different mediums from painting, sculpture, installation projects film, and video.
Can Elgiz, who began the collection in 1980 has familiar ties to the Greek island as his great-grandfather was born and raised there — not only on the island itself but in the same building that now hosts the Municipal Art Gallery.
