Apache Helicopter Force Lands in Northern Greece, Survivors Reported

kolposorfanou-1Sources have reported that as Apache helicopter of the Hellenic Army Aviation has forced landed after suffering an engine failure and fell into the sea on Tuesday morning, according to the AP.
The incident occurred in northern Greece near Chalkidiki and according to initial reports, the two pilots survived the landing and have been taken to the 424 General Military Hospital in Thessaloniki.
apatsiIt has been reported that the helicopter was participating in SARISA 2016 that was launched on Tuesday, which is a national large scale exercise under the coordination of the 1st Army, involving units and three branches of the Armed Forces and U.S. Special Forces Division.
At this time there is no word on the cause of the helicopter emergency landing.
