Last summer in Athens the murder of a 4-year-old girl who was initially reported missing by her parents only to be found murdered and cut into pieces, captivated the nation.
The trial for the accused murderer – her own father – was suspended on Wednesday, sources have reported.
The suspension is following the withdrawal of the lawyer of a second defendant facing charges in the case.
The victim’s father, a Bulgarian national, is reported to have recently admitted in court to cutting his daughter’s dead body into pieces, but denied killing her, accusing his roommate who is the second defendant in the case of committing that crime.
The trial is expected to resume on Friday.
