The Greek Foreign Ministry in an announcement on Sunday unequivocally condemned the terror attacks in Istanbul on Saturday.
“We express our abhorrence and unequivocally condemn the deadly twin terrorist attacks that took place yesterday in Istanbul. We address our condolences to the families of the victims and extend our wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured. In these difficult moments, we all stand by our friends and neighbours”, said the announcement.
President Pavlopoulos spoke on the phone with President Erdogan
President of Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos on Sunday spoke on the phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Greek president expressed the Greek people’s abhorrence and unequivocal condemnation over the terror attack in Istanbul as well as the condolences to the victims’ families.
Moreover, Pavlopoulos reassured Erdogan that nothing can or will divide Greece and Turkey in the common battle against terrorism.
