BoG Chief Stournaras Says 'Progress Recorded in the Greek Economy Should Not Be Intercepted'

Greek Finance Minister Yiannis Stournaras
On Friday the Bank of Greece’s (BoG) governor, Yiannis Stournaras, made an intervention on the government’s negotiation with the country’s lenders within the context of the second review of the Greek program.
On the occasion of the presentation of BoG’s mid-report on Monetary Policy on Friday, Stournaras said “the progress recorded in the Greek economy should not be intercepted and for this reason whatever differences must be solved on the negotiation table and in a climate of good cooperation with the institutions and the partners.”
The Bank of Greece’s report foresees that the country’s GDP will increase by 2.5 percent in 2017 and the acceleration growth rate to reach 3 percent in 2018 and 2019.
