Defusion of WWII Bomb to Take Place Sunday

The defusing and transfer of a WWII bomb that was found a few days ago in the municipality of Kordelio, Thessaloniki, Greece, is expected to be held on Sunday February 12 , said Thessaloniki vice governor Voula Patoulidou.
The area will be evacuated and residents will have to leave their houses. “The bomb that has not exploded since WWII contains 150 kilos of explosives. We can’t bury it because it is very dangerous. We need an organized plan to remove it in the best possible way,” said Patoulidou.
We do not want panic to prevail, she said adding that we have not encountered a similar incident in the past, we have removed bombs but not from inhabited areas, she concluded.
