Greeks Vent Anger by Paying to Smash Things (video)

Greeks can now pay 5 to 100 euros to vent their anger and frustration by smashing things in the first anger room that opened in central Athens.
Located in the trendy neighborhood of Psyri, “Limba” is the place where you can break things … and pay in advance to do so. In Greek, “limba” means smashing things, causing destruction. Greece’s first anger room (or rage room) has opened less than a month ago but soon became all the rage (pun intended) as young Athenians discovered it via social media.
“Limba” is a basement where you go to and choose from a menu of destruction. You can smash things ranging from empty bottles to old TVs, with prices starting at 5 euros. You can use rollers, crowbars or bats and destroy things to your heart’s (and wallet’s) content.

For those rich and angry enough there is the “Chaos” package where for 100 euros you can break 80 bottles, two television sets, five cell phones, five stem glasses, five shot glasses and 10 plates.

The two owners, Spyros and Elena, say they were inspired to open “Limba” when they saw an anger room in Argentina. No doubt an original idea by two young people in recession-hit Greece, wanting to make a living in an ailing economy.
As Elena and Spyros say, people love to smash TVs, a common repressed fantasy. However, they advise their customers not to come in when they are angry. Not that they don’t want to give people the opportunity to decompress, but they say that “Limba” customers should better see the anger room as a way to have fun, as a new experience.
