Executives at Energa and Hellas Power Electricity Companies Found Guilty Of Stealing €83 Million

 
Several executives of the Energa and Hellas Power electricity companies were found guilty of stealing money from the state by an Athens court on Tuesday.
Of the 19 people who were originally suspects, eight of them were cleared of all charges.
Aris Floros and Nikos Dekolis were two of those found guilty and were charged with embezzlement while Stefanos Siafakas, Achilleas Floros and Vassilis Milionis were found to be accessories to the theft.
Other charges that Aris Floros was found guilty of include smuggling, as well as money laundering. Siafakas and Dekolis were also found guilty of money laundering.
The total amount stolen totals some 83 million euros of which the defendants have offered to pay back. According to sources, the court has not made a ruling on that issue at this time.
