European Best Destinations (EBD) recently concluded its eighth online competition where people vote to select the Best European Destination for 2017, and this year Athens ranked fourth place with 38,627 votes!
This is how the EBD website described Greece:
“Travelers have always ranked Athens at the top of this European competition,” adding, “It is a favorite destination for travelers from all over the world who want to discover Europe. Ever since its participation in this competition, Athens has ranked among the 5 favorite destinations of travelers worldwide.”
In total, the competition had 20 countries entered in it and 426,859 people voted from 174 different countries. Porto, Portugal won first place for the third time as the Best European Destination, racking up 138,116 votes.
